Hi all,
Well I am sort of a new owner of a 1977 Spider. I will not be able to pick the car up from my friend until next weekend and the wait is going to drive me nuts. This does give me time to get my garage in order and be set up when I do bring it home. I do not know much about fiats but I also did not know much about Triumph and Honda motorcycles before I rebuilt some of them. I do have a good general knowladge about cars since I helped out at my buddies shop 2 nights a week for about 5 years. I am glad this site is here and there seems to be some great information here.
I can not really say much about the car. I do know it drives and handles well. There is no rust. I was previousely owned by a mechanic who loved the car. The car has been inside a garage and only taken out on weekends while this guy had it. The car was green and is now black. The roof is in great shape (about 1 year old). The seats and carpet are old but in good shape. I will recover them some day.
I will post more aobut the car when i get it. I am sure I will be asking many questions

Re: Hello from newbie Florida
hey, welcome.
looking forward to reading more about your adventure next week. and...pictures.
having the attitude that it is repairable is always a good thing. if you've maintained a Triumph, you should have that attitude already. major differences (besides the wheel count) would be things like:
Triumph - Spider
earth - ground
whitworth - metric
spanner - wrench
torch - flashlight
bonnet - hood
boot - trunk
silencer - muffler
you get the idea...

What a friendly forum. Thank you for the warm welcome
I live Tampa moved over from Hollywood 8 months ago.
Yes it is like waiting for xmas in away. I can not wait!!!!!!!
Well my friend has picked up the car. Which means my car is going to be in the hands of 2 insane Ferrari mechanics for a week. I am guessing that the not working tail light and the temp guage will be fixed before I get it. The guy who sold the car to me put all his extra Fiat parts, books and a car cover in the trunk.
Will keep you informed
