Hello from West Virginia with a '78 Spider.

Post by PPhemester »

Hello all. Good to see websites like this up and running for car enthusiasts.I will admit that is my first true foray into a foreign vehicle, but I've loved the lines of the spider and wanted one for the longest time. I'm currently in college and largely strapped for cash, but browsing craigslist turned up a vehicle that I couldn't pass on. Today I checked out a blue 78 spider virtually rust free (smack in the middle of salted road country) and in good driving condition. Indeed, it does need some interior work and the paint is weak in a few spots, but I couldn't be more happy with it for $1500. The title gets transferred on tuesday then I'm going up to collect it. I'll try to get a few pictures posted sometime wednesday, and then begins the work. Nothing too serious for the time being, just getting it cleaned up and then I plan to drive the hell out of it this summer. This should prove to be a much different experience than my el camino.

Haha. I am from Wheeling. Well, up on top the hill in Bethlehem at any rate.I think there is another Spider running around here, but only on an extremely occasional basis. Hope to get pics up soon and then get this thing on the road.

if it's a white one. I saw it the last time I was in town. A female was driving it. I'm from 31st street. Did you go to Park? If so, what year did you graduate?

I can't say if I do. I grad. in 85. I really can't remember anyone from there. I lived in Texas from 7th to 11th and only did my senior year there. I had mostly gym classes then with Younger kids. So I really never got to know any seniors. You might of known my brother who would of graduated a couple years before you. Luther Jones.
