Atlanta mechanic Dave not doing well

Post by dalvis »

I'm new here, but I have a feeling that most of the Atlanta area Fiat owners know Dave Weaver of Fiat Auto. He sold me my first Fiat in Feburary. His son is very ill and Dave is trying to take care of his son and run his shop in the busiest time of the year. I'm not sure how to help him, but I am planning to drop off a few meals this week (I hope he likes chili). If you could keep Dave in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks.

I hate to hear that. I was wondering why Chris wasn't in the shop the last couple of times I dropped by. I guess I should have asked Dave. I will have to find the time in the next few days to get over and ask him what would be helpful. Thanks for giving us all the word Dwayne.

The last two times I stopped by, the shop was closed.

Talked to him a while back and he was trying to balance it all. Great guy with a bunch of knowledge and quality work.

When you say "Dave passed on a while ago", you mean died? If not, any info on him and his son?

Just tried calling his number yesterday and was the wrong number.

I was told the same thing that BEEK heard. When he lost the Duluth shop, that treasure trove of Fiat parts was left in the building. No telling what happened to them, probably sold for scrap. :(

Here is what I know because I helped him during the time he moved. He lost the shop space in Duluth but moved to a place in Buford, GA. Most of the parts were scrapped by the owner in Duluth but he kept his cars and some big parts. He had an 850 with a turbo, awesome 1500 Cabrio, Lancia Beta Coupe and 124 Spider.

Had a nice working space in Buford were he worked on my car and others. That was mid 2010. Had a pacemaker installed around that time so he felt a lot better and working every week.

He called me around early 2011 to tell me his new address in Hurricane Shoals Rd., Lawrenceville. Went to the place but was never able to find it. Also phone off.

No news since until I found this topic.
