Fiat family car

A while back, before I bought my spider, I had a few questions about child car seats and how they might or might not fit in a spider. This was in response to my wife being against the idea of me getting the car, mostly because "we can't fit our daughter in there". We have one 2 1/2 year old. Two days after I buy the car anyway and bring it home, we learn that we will be having a second child. I ward off some of the I told you so syndrome saying - kids are small, we can fit two back there. Now yesterday we find out it's going to be twins. Even I know I can't squeeze 3 back there so I take the offensive claiming we now need his and her fiats in order to get everyone around. so far It's not working

Congrats! We have successfully put 2 kids (7 & 4) in the back with a 25lb cocker spaniel in the middle and it worked, so you might have a chance.

Well if you have a luggage rack on the trunck you can always "U" bolt a couple of car seats to it. My daughter would have loved that.

Or put on some antlers on em' and strap em' on the hood. (Only to be used during hunting season)

Well if you want a serious answer then take the car to Chip Foose and have him make the trunk into a rumble seat.

Just kidding GS, I know the only sensible solution is two spiders!

But I thought the rumble seat was a great idea. On the other hand getting a second Spider is really nice.

I can assure you that you can fit 3 kids into the back of a Spider - how safely is another matter. Back in the glory days of the mid 70's when I was but a wee lad, I can remember going on family drives in the Spider (formerly my dad's - now mine ), with me, my older sister and my older brother all in the back "seat". Amazingly, I don't remember those drives as being miserably cramped - just remember them as incredibly fun. Of course that was back before any of us were put into seat belts - much less car seats.
As for the "solution to your problem": I suggest you drive the Fiat - enjoying the sights and sounds of open air motoring in a fine Italian sports car while your wife follows in the minivan (I'm sure you can pick up a Chrysler for close to pocket change these days) enjoying the sounds and smells of three young ones still in diapers. Of course if you follow this suggestion, yoiu may want to go ahead and start saving for the divorce attorney, but what the heck, you'll enjoy the ride!
