New to Forum, but to Fiats

Post by lawprofdave »

Hi all. I'm in Rhode Island and I have a 1980 carburetored Spider 2000, from just before they went FI. I have had it for about five years and it's my second one. I used to have a '74 Spider which I bought new back in 1974. I am also a member of the Northeast chapter of FLU (Fiat Lancia Unlimited). I have spent much of the last few years correcting some of the messes of previous owners, for instance a rat's nest of wires from multiple radio installations that never removed the prior rat's nests, interior destruction and strange paint jobs. That last one I am still working on. Otherwise, it is a pretty solid car, considering it's lived its whole life in the land of snow and salt.

Hello Dave, welcome to the forum. Your post reminds me that I'm late sending in my dues to FLU. Thanks.
Don't let Mike be stingy, share photos of your car with all on us.

I hope you guys don't really need a law prof., but I can answer some questions. I'll probably have a few of my own....about fiat tech. As for RI, not to many fiats, but there might be alot per capita. There were more in the local junkyards, but alot of them have been crushed. I pulled as many parts as I could before they disappeared. I will post some pix, though my car doesn't look that good, yet. Still a work in progress.
