Gotten ripped into about 4 times. always keep it unlocked, but they cut thru the roof anyway.

Re: Hi from Queens NY.
ratty looking or not. it is a spider. if it is special to you, we think so too. as a result, we'd like to see some pictures.

Hello, and welcome to the forum. You would think that a thief would at least try to open the door first
Your car situation sounds like a Seinfeld episode.

Hey dj, I'm from Queens to!
I'm in Glendale, near Forest Park. I never had the problems you had luckily. I'm lucky to have a garage I guess. Maybe we can hook up sometime and compare notes.
I saw a real beautiful red spider on Parsons Blvd. the other day, red with a tan interior just like mine, and I saw he had a beautiful spoiler on the rear which I never saw before. Unfortunately, by the time I got turned around he was gone. What are the chances of two red spiders passing each other like that? Do you know the guy by any chance?
I posted some pics of my car on the thread below, "Newbie From The Big Apple" if you want to see it...

Re: Hi from Queens NY.
I lived in Flushing from around '74 to '77 with my '74 124 Sport Coupe. It was a gorgeous, fun-to-drive, piece-of-crap. I had a lot of troubles just keeping it alive, but it was never broken into in Queens.
OTOH, It was broken into on City Island, in Scarsdale and in New Haven.
One time my wife and I came out of the Sea Shore restaurant on City Island and found a guy sitting in the car. He said he was guarding it from robbers.
When it was parked at the train station in Scarsdale, a thief stole cassettes, a radar detector, and gasoline credit cards. For several months I got Mobil bills that showed that the thief had written "Go F**k Yourself" as the signature. No pump jockey ever noticed.
In New Haven I was parked at an _Italian_ restaurant on Fathers Day. The bad guy smashed the driver's side window and did major damage to my dashboard while trying unsuccessfully to steal my radio.
I've had the Spider since Feb '04. I never park it where I can't see it. So far I've been lucky. (But maybe I'm tempting fate by typing this.)
