Just got off the phone with the DMV and they said that if a car is more than 8 years old, the regular title is still good. Good news.

All's well that ends well. It sounds like you didn't get screwed by her insurance company after all. Just out of curiosity, what company was it?

Her company was Palisades insurance. I think. I will definitely keep you posted. I'm thinking of changing the color of my car to the darker grayish blue color. I forget what it's called, but it is an original '80 spider 2000 color. I was able to get an original Fiat paint chips chart off of Ebay last year.
