I currently have my spider for sale partially due to my wife not being able to drive a stick shift. tried to teach her a few years back, but she's dislexic and it was a real nightmare..bad enough with brake and gas pedal, but when you add a clutch it was dangerous. Anyway since we love the Spider so much after we sell this one we were thinking of an automatic. Anyone have any experience with the reliability with their tranni, etc. Thanks, Rob

I think it is a GM transmission, so it shouldnt be that hard to fix or swap out.
Just remember, these are 30 year old cars and they have the same problems that every 30 years old car has.
Wouldnt it just be cheaper to a get a wife that CAN drive a stick. Both you and the car would be much happier.

don't sell it, get a car for her. then the two of you can drive to the cruise, and car shows!!

That means she would get half of everything else. I figure its cheaper this way, plus I also have a 77 Scorpion that only I can drive .
