Hi Folks,
First off I want to thank you all for the kind words it is very much appreciated...
Amber... again like I said in my email... I will gladly give any information to help you with your quest. I learned alot by doing on the project so I am sure I could lessen the burden of research by sharing mine with you. Anyway, stay in touch..
Mark... just want to say thanks for your realistic support. You and several others on this site and FC.com happen to belong to very respected and knowledgeable crowd. It is this group of people that I have come to respect and appreciate very much for their experiance and willingness to share it with others...
Gerard... How's your spider running? I thought I saw you the other day downtown. Hope all is well with you.
Brad... Hope all is well with you also! Have you ever got your EFI setup going on your spider yet? I am curious as to how that turned out. I will try and give you a call this week. I have been pretty busy at work so i have not had much time to work on the car... *bummer*
Jim... when it comes to conversions... the Chevy Small Block V8 has more performance parts available than any other engine *period*. The 4.3L v6 is based on the Chevy Small Block V8 so just about every part availible for the Small Block will bolt onto the 4.3L V6, plus the parts are relatively inexpensive.
As for sophistication the Chevy Small Block is one of the most raced engines ever and can be purchased over the counter straight from the Chevy Dealer as an aluminum long block for cheaper than any new import engine of the same caliber. Plus it supports any type of induction you can throw at it.
...at this point my 4.3L V6 is putting 300+ HP on pump gas without forced induction. And the engine weighs only a fraction more than a TC. This choice was easy for me to make...
