Hello from Norway

Post by Norway »

I am a famely father in my best ages. Late summer, last year i got my wifes blessing to by a -74 dark blue spider.
True the winter, i have pickt it in pieces and welded som rust in the bottom. I also had the motor and transisson out. Last saturday i took my first ride this spring. It was great!! :D My idea is to fix in the winter and always be able to have it on weels when the spring comes.
There is one problem that i want to ask about. It pops out of 2nd gear when i "hang on the engine" it is ok when i acselrate.
Best regards from Norway in spring.

Welcome to the nut house!! LOL. The problem with your transmission is the typical worn 1-2 shift fork or it may be bent. Like Mike stated you can fix this yourself if you are handy, parts are avalialbe from vendors or Ebay.

Photos? We like photos.

Welcome to the group! There's a good description of how to post pictures at http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic ... res#p37831. You will need a Flickr or Photobucket account (or similar), which are free and easy to learn. If you have a child at home, they are even easier! :) Enjoy the summer - it's short!

Hello Norway! Welcome to the site. How many months a year do you get a chance to drive your car over there?
Looking forward to the pics.

Welcome to the site. I follow your plan each year -- I plan all of my projects/maintenance during the winter and just drive it in the summer months. So far, it has worked for me (knock on wood). Of course, many folks on this site do not have our lovely winters to obsess over our Spiders
