Air Hose

Post by alex »

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your posts on all of my other topics. As you can tell, I'm a newbie and am in need of serious help. I appreciate everything.

Here's the latest question: Does anyone knw the diameter of the air hose that leads off of the air filter on a 77 Spider? I park my car pretty far from my apartment (I live in Manhattan) so I'll need to buy the hose without being in the car and if anyone has this info off hand, I'd appreciate it. Also, any idea how long I should get it cut?

Thanks again.

2' hose should fit it, and it's normally packaged in 18" lengths, which is plenty long enough for your Spider. It's accordian style hose so it can be compressed or lengthened to fit.
The air cleaner top should be rotated to open the warm air inlet in winter weather, and rotated to open the snorkel for warm weather driving

Hi,

I've been calling around looking for the hose, and no one even seems to know what I'm talking about. I'm calling it a 2" diameter air hose. Should I call it something else????

on most cars it's called a Thermostatic Air Cleaner hose, or TAC. The same size hose was used on the air cooled VWs, so if you have a VW or foreign car parts close by, they'll have it
