Re: Melted ignition wire block
Finally had a nice day outside today, so I picked up some butt-connectors and spliced some wires. The new ignition switch has been installed, and it works! I'm not 100% sure how good my butt-connector job was, though I took my time, cut some of the worn out wires back and tried to make sure that the wires went in as smoothly as possible without mashing them.
The red electrical light which turned on whenever I had the headlights on is now absent except for the tiniest glow which appears when I have headlights, stereo, and air conditioning on full blast. The headlights are also much brighter now!
I'm going to keep an eye on my connections to make sure they don't melt or anything, and proceed to check the fuses/ground wire, but otherwise I think the main issue has been pulled apart. Thanks again to everyone here, especially Michael, you've all been a great help with this problem.
