Cutting Springs
Re: Cutting Springs
When you guys say your springs are in good shape. I need to ask. My springs are so stiff. When I push down on the car. It barely moves. It is so hard. Is this how your cars are when the springs are good? I would have thought that there would be some spring action instead of not moving much at all. The way it is now. I don't think it would matter if I have worn out shocks or not. I don't think the shocks would even be utilized. I need your help here so I know what to do with these springs. Keep them or replace them.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Cutting Springs
So what is the concensus here on how many coils to cut front and rear? I have yet another project. A 78 model Spider that will be used as a Lemons car. A bunch of us guys (thanks Craig!) worked on gutting it and getting it ready for a roll cage and the thing sits up like a four wheel drive dunebuggy:

Re: Cutting Springs
Just think how much higher it will be without those bumpers! Must be an early '78 with those door handles. What are you doing for an engine?

Re: Cutting Springs
Peter, I've got several 1608s laying around so we'll refresh one of those and drop it in. Doesn't it look funny? We'll be dogging the car on the track so that may come into play how much we need to cut. Right now the thing looks like it can topple onto it's side at any time.
