With no new houses going up,we have been taking anything to get by. I took a job replacing steps going down to the river, and putting railing up.A beautiful place ,with security gates, called Walnut Mountain.People dont lock doors here,so a guardhouse is very unusual. The river is postcard pretty,so I decided to walk down and get some pics.I went down about 50 yards and stood on some rocks in the middle, behind a small cabin. As soon as I stepped out of the woods ,I see 2 guys running at me from one direction, and another come from behind the cabin.Told me to ''Stop! dont move...you are tresspassing'' One guy had a gun in his hand! Then the owners of the cabin came out and....it was ex-President Jimmy Carter and his wife!!! I had stumbled into his Secret Service entourage!Holy S#*T!! That will get the blood flowing at 8am.It is exremely thick Hemlock forest, and they didnt see me until I got to the middle of the river. President Carter seemed to get a kick out of it,waved, and went back inside.I took the picture anyway.

Re: Adventure in the workplace
My sister-in-law has met him twice (the former President, not the Secret Service agent! ) relating to work at his Foundation, and says he is the most genuine, astute, focused individual she's ever met. Listen to his "Crisis of Confidence" speech of 30 years ago to get a preview of our current dillema. It must be everything he can do to resist saying, "I told you so."

Re: Adventure in the workplace
It was pretty intense for a few seconds!I knew President Carter had a cabin in there, just not THAT cabin! We were there the day before, but there was no one around. He must have arrived that night.Later,he was out underbrushing in his overalls and a red cap.It was a riot to watch the Secret Service guys scrambling around, gathering cut limbs and stacking them.
