Hello from Texas

Post by sptcoupe »

Just checking in as a new registrant, and hope to enjoy this site with my old friends from the FIAT community, as well as meet some new ones. We currently live in the Dallas area, but are in the proecss of relocating to Houston. Our little collection currently includes a 1972 124 sport coupe (highly modified, "full house" 1.8L motor, lowered, large front sway bar, rear bar, brakes which we have had for over 22 years); a 1973 124 Sedan "Special" (1438 cc OHV engine that is dead stock except for a larger carb, owned for 3 years); and a 1981 124 Spider ( 2.0L FI, stock except it is lowered, has a rear sway bar, brakes, header and K&N induction system, owned for 7 years). We are the second owners of all these cars, and have been FIAT fanatics/owners since 1972. Thanks to Denise for directing me here!

Good grief fellas. It took me years to teach him how to post pics on another site, so if you'll give me some time.... beside, you've probably seen his cars already. The Spider was featured in a popular magazine...and yes, those are real Hooters!

Denise - I am not too sure the hooters are real, but they are real Hooters girls sitting in the car with my son! I have some photos of the cars on the other site Denise referred to, but I wouldn't have clue how to retrieve them and post them here. Help! Believe me, Denise spent a lot more time helping me with posting phots than I spent with her on tuning IDFs!

Welcome aboard Jeff.
Good looking car you have there. Good looking son also. I'm torn as to which might have been the bigger attraction for the Hooter Girls.
Good to meet you.

Ron - I know dad wasn't the attraction! My son also got them to get into the coupe and the sedan that day, but I didn't get any photos! Something about Italian cars.....

I don't know Tappy. The car looks a little top heavy in that picture.

Jim - We are temporarily living in the Woodlands right now. Realyy kind of splitting time between Houstpon and Dallas, with more time in Houston than in Dallas. In fact, I have seen a red spider in the Woodlands, so it was probably yours. I am also a member of the local club here, but I am rarely in town to participate in events (job related travel). Right now, I have the coupe in Houston; the spider and sedan are in Dallas. We should get together for a coffee or something.

Denise - It may have been top heavy, but I don't think my son was too worried about how the car was handling that day. 8)
