I have been listening to him for all my life when traveling to work ,,and also comming home from work.. His "Rest of the Stories intrigued me the most as I like stories ..
I also remember him reporting this happening from his news one morning also
It was some news about a old guy and his wife were out camping in thier Truck Camper and durring the night they heard gagging out side and then foot steps running away ...
The next morning they looked around out side and found an empty gas can and hose and evidence of where the gas thief was gagging ... What the gas thief didn't know was that the old guy had converted one of his reserve gas tanks into a holding tank for sewage ..
Any one got any stories to tell that they heard from this great legend of a man ? LD

Re: Paul Harvey an American Icon died
My favorite was a story that he told about a man who was working on his roof one fine summer afternoon. His neighbor noticed him struggling with his footing on the steep surface and suggested that he put a rope over the crest of the roof, anchored to something sturdy on the other side, and with a loop on the working end to put around his waist or leg to keep him from slipping down the roof. Sounded like a great idea, so he asked his kind neighbor to get a rope out of his garage, and toss one end over the top of the roof, and secure the other end as he had suggested.
Then Paul went on to explain how the man was going to live, but would take a while to recover from all the broken bones. Apparently, the neighbor has anchored the other end of the rope to the bumper of his wife's car, and . . .
Good day!
