I got this little divice at the antique store where the glass basket came from.. ,,I looked and looked for a Valentines gift for the wife ,,,and then the gal brought me the Glass Basket .. I only could find something for me ,,this 1932 Kitchen tool used for taking canning jar rings off with..

It could be used for other jars I am pretty sure but when i tried it on modern jar lids it slipped off more than once ..

I see one on E-bay and it went for $15 ,,I paid $1.75 ,,I collect old kitchen gadgets ..

Some very interesting answers in the thread I might add ,,LOL And some that remembered and knew what it was used for..


A Jar of strawberry jam ,,I canned my self..

where is the other half of the set? You've got the tool for the lid, now you need one to hold the jar
