Hazard Switch

I finally thought I had a gently used one, but it was the right one. Oh well, but noticed that the plug for the hazarddidn't have a center connection. Ther swwitch has a spde teminal for one. No matter how I look at the multiple wiring diagrams, I don't see a center connection; however, there was a black (GND ? ) that was close by.

Help??

Here's a picture that shows the wire that needs to connect to the center terminal. It's the purple&black striped wire under my thumb.
