Hello -

I'm new to the Fiat community. Have enjoyed reading about everyones rides.
Bought a 72 124 spider convertible in October of 2005. Have been working on the car ever since. It is not a complete restoration, but pretty close. So far the things I have done are engine rebuild (It's got a 75 1800 instead of the original 1600 in it), new radiator, welded in new floor pans and rusted out areas around the wheel wells, sprayed the trunk, engine bay and interior metal with undercoating, traded out the seats for buckets from a 95 Acura, and new paint (Subaru Newport Blue with silver racing stripes).
The car is not running yet, but more plans include, new steering wheel, carpet, guages, electronic ignition. Future plans include a new center console with cupholders and something done with the back seat - just not sure yet.

I'll try to post some pics in the next couple of days.
The seat swap was actually very simple. the hardest part was finding a seat narrow enough to fit between the door and the hump. It is a pretty tight fit, but I have eliminated the center console, so that gives me a little more room to work with.
The brackets for the original seats were done away with because of the rusted out floor pans, so I just welded in a smooth piece for the floor. The brackets from the Acura seats were then bent flat to rest evenly on the floor of the car. Drilled new holed and bolted the seats down. Not much to it.

Welcome Daren! 72 is by far the best year for the Spider...don't let any of those 82 owners tell you otherwise! :D
I believe there's a new Fiat Lancia Unlimited chapter forming in the NM area. Check out http://www.flu.org for more info.

the guy to contact for that FLU chapter is John Falk. His email address is: jmfalk at verizon dot net

you should check out the website like Denise suggested. FLU has a lot of things to offer a Fiat / Lancia owner.
