another new guy

Post by carl55 »

Hi,
Thought I should write something before I get kicked off. I purchased a 78 about 2 years ago, then the smog laws got me so I can't drive it anymore. I also purchased a 79 a month ago. My plans are to use it for parts. I am looking for a 75 or older spider to make it the way I want it to look and run.
I have really enjoyed reading this forum and have learned alot about the quirks that go with owning a Fiat. For some reason I can not get pictures to work? Maybe next time.

Kicked off? No way Carl. It's very rare for someone to be "Banned For Life". But just in case, Fiats2000 has some graphics made up for those who are.
Post pictures by uploading them to a photo sharing site first, then copy the Url or img. code from there and paste it in your message on the forum.
Welcome, and good luck with your car(s).

YES! Most definitely a photo sharing site.... Life is a series of learning experiences; stop learning, stop living. so .. git with the program and share those pictures. if i can learn how, so can anyone else; and i am right up there with the "unteachable" crowd.

'79 parts into a '75 ?? some will, and some won't.

still have the '78? didja strip the emission stuff off, or is it just needing adjusting? Hate to hear that the '78 goes by the wayside because of emission issues. Mark Allison should be able to help with that.

It's Carl from 29 Palms Mark. I talked to you about your 69. And yes Denise I must learn new stuff everyday in my job. I just dislike doing computor stuff online. Yes the smog stuff was removed from the 78. It's a decent car. I plan on putting it up for sale someday. The 79 can only be used for parts. I want to put the 2 litre and tranny in another car. I am going to run dual webbers and 1800 head until I get a turbo setup, fuel injection. Then I will go back to the 2 litre head and dished forged pistons and the other nice stuff that goes with it.

Fuel injection? Turbo? Are you crazy?! Welcome aboard. Look forward helping you learn from our collective mistakes, er, "experience."
