Spider in Indy

Post by goood44 »

Hello, I bought a 79 spider pinanfarina 2000 last week and would like to restore it but right now it is just a sunny day, top down ride that I have grown to love in the few days that I have had it. It is a little rough and it runs and drives pretty well. I am looking for someone in the area of Indy or central Indiana that I can be a sounding board to and can maybe give me some pointers on restoring and maintaining.
I am also wondering if there is a club in central Indiana or in Chicago, Louisville or Cincy areas. Are there any Fiat shows or get togethers or swap meets at any of these get togethers?
I love this car and I hope I have many years of fun with it.
I will be asking a lot of questions.
Thanks from Indy.

You should check out http://www.flu.org (FLU - Fiat-Lancia Unlimited). FIAT Freak Out (FFO) is in Detroit this year (in about 5 weeks - details at FLU.org). I think the FLU.org chapter section shows a central indiana FLU chapter. There is a Detroit FLU chapter and a few of us in West Michigan are planning on starting a chapter real soon.

Also go to http://www.frappr.com/fiatlanciaunlimited and http://www.frappr.com/mirafiori to see the locations of other Fiat owners.

Also watch for user racydave on this forum. He is in the indy area.

Thanks for the reply and the info given. I try to figure out things on my own but it's nice to know that I have someone to ask if I hit a dead end.
Thanks again and I'm sure you will be hearing from me again soon.
