Tech session December 6th

Post by mdrburchette »

We will hold a tech session at my house on December 6th. Ron will be showing us how to do a valve job on a Fiat head around 10:00 am that morning. Afterwards, I may show you how to pull an engine and tranny from a Spider and even serve you lunch! make sure you have your work clothes on. For more info and directions, please email me at spyderlady71@yahoo.com

I will be in attendnce. Will it be at Casa Del Doublewide? Will we be working on the cars in the living room? Can we go to the churchyard where you tried to run over your daughters boyfriend? It does sound like fun ,I'll get directions when it gets closer.

I second this request, . . . provided that the attendees follow Denise's advice to have their clothes on.

Dang, maybe I should have another one in July when it's way too hot to wear clothes....or, I could make my own garage calendar. How 'bout calling it Snap-Off? 8)

Yes Craig, it'll be held at the ole doublewide in the livingroom and I'll make sure the kerosene heater is fired up...you can leave the beer on the front porch beside the dog dish to keep it cold.
Mark, there's a tobacco field next door that oughta be good enough to land a plane. I'll tie socks to some sticks to help with the landing.

No need to sober up...we live in the conservative South!
Although not as many showed up as we had hoped, the tech session went well. It was COLD, but thankfully the shop was heated. I'm afraid my camera batteries were weak, but I got a couple of pics.
Here's Ron porting the head.

And here's him grinding the valve seats:

My camera died at this point, but we also learned how to reface the valves on a machine that had to be over 50 years old. But hey, that's when machines were made to last.
After the tech session, everyone came to the big house for some chili and grilled cheese sandwiches. I did catch ole thieving Craig in the act as he was getting ready to leave. Shame on you Craig!
