Hoisting engine out
Hi everyone. I need to hoist my engine out of my 76 Spider. Is it better to leave engine mounts on crossmember and just un bolt engine from top of mount and lift engine off of mounts or is it better to unbolt mount from underneath cross member and just lift out engine with mounts still attached to engine ? I am hoping for a snag free lift. Thanks.

Ahhh, Grasshopper. Remove the top nut and leave the rubber engine mount in the car when you pull the engine. When you reinstall, loosen the lower nut on the mount so you can move it around as you lower the engine back down on the mount.
