2wks, 3 Fiats in Orange, TX

Post by JaimeEz »

Good morning! Despite always loving the MGs, I didn’t really know about the Fiats, until i saw one in a local camper listing. I couldn’t figure out what it was so I finally messaged the seller to learn it’s a 78 124, and was also for sale cheap. My boyfriend and I went to look at it and realized it’s not worth fixing as almost every body panel and support piece need replacing, but the car was complete. We walked away, and I did some looking on FB Marketplace to see what else was out there as I was now stuck on that car. Much to my surprise I found a two-car project for sale, a 77 and a 78, about 5hrs away. One almost complete, one complete but in pieces, and neither with much rust to worry about. A plan was then made and all three cars were bought within two weeks. :D

I can’t wait to get one running and on the road, and then teach my teenagers how to drive stick!

Wow, three at once! Sounds like you have enough cars/parts to make at least one, maybe two good cars. You'll find that they are quite addicting when all the bugs have been fixed. Classic Italian sports car styling that has held up for decades, surprisingly advanced engineering designs for that era, parts availability is good, etc. Have fun with it, and let us know how things progress.

Thank you Bryan! That’s the plan, make two good cars and sell off what’s left as we basically have three of everything.

Hi Jaime,
congratulations, sounds like a great project! As always I would like to see some pics of your 3 cars in status "Before".

Can we get the VINs for the worldwide Spider Register? Texas is Spider country, we actually count 435 cars in Texas with 138 CS1 Spider (1973-78), see here:

Perhaps your cars are already listed?

Good luck with your project!

Cheers Ralf
