Hi everyone

I figured it was about time to put a new member post together. After a very impulsive and short search for a Spider, I pulled the trigger a couple months ago and picked up a running '78. I have been lurking around the forums for a little bit trying to soak up as much knowledge as I could to help with the car. I think this community is great and look forward to picking the collective brain here as things come up. Here is a picture of the car when I bought it. Have a few things to work on, and finding parts up here is a pain, but I guess that is par for the course with cars of this vintage. If there is anyone in the GTA that has leads on where to get parts locally, and are willing to share their secrets that would be great.

Hey Will,

Welcome to the board…guys on here are very helpful and knowledgeable for sure, as for getting parts in Toronto area…not the easiest. I joined some Facebook clubs to help with locating some parts but truthfully most my parts have been ordered from south of boarder. Andy’s Spiders is a good shop if you need a mechanic, I personally haven’t had my car there but I hear he certainly knows his way around the cars and has some good parts stocked. Congratulations and enjoy the ride.

Cheers,
Francis

Thanks Francis,
It is tough getting things up here. Have had to pick up a few things from down south so far. So far I have been able to work out a cooling issue, still trying to sort a wonky idle out, but it is coming along. When it gets put away for the winter tackling the electrical system is going to be on the list. From a quick glance there is a bit of cleaning up from one of the POs.
