Picked up my 72 850 sport spider about 2 weeks ago. Got it from an older gentleman. The amount of parts that came with it is crazy. Hard and soft top, I got 3 dizzys, 14 points, 2 water pumps, new clutch, pads and rotors, 4 red shocks and 2 greens, box of bearings and seals, bag of badges and the list goes on.
I got it as a non runner but since then i got it going. The fuel pick up strainer was clogged. Got brand new falkens, orderer carb kit, new battery, put on the brand spankin new exhaust, did valve clearance, and im currently half way through doing the brake job.
The biggest hurdle at the moment is trying to find weather stripping. I need it front to back including for the hard top

Welcome, and now you've got spare parts for about a year or so of use!Nickrp wrote:Picked up my 72 850 sport spider about 2 weeks ago. Got it from an older gentleman. But seriously, let us know how it goes, and I always liked driving the 850 although I never owned one myself. Fun little cars.

Welcome aboard, belatedly. I've been off for a while due to life's changes.
What part of Washington are you in? We're in Granite Falls, so we could run into each other someday.
