Separating HI and LO with 2 separate relays and fuses is critical! I chose the wrong fuse size and we lost HI beams on the way home late at night from a club meeting on a dark and wooded back road at high speed, Yikes. But still had LO beams.

Was out driving tonite. Stopped at a friends house. On the way home it was after 9:30pm, totally dark.

These Hella H4 headlights are amazing compared to the old sealed bulbs I had. Amazing difference. And I did not do the relay job, was lazy.

A further improvement would be to swap out your H4s for a couple of headlights labeled "e-code". These meet the EU standard you referred to. You can get them at Daniel Stern lighting. Hella makes them as does Cibie. I have the Cibie brand and with the relay kit I installed, they light the road better than my wife's car with xenon HID lights.
