Hello everyone ,
I have recently bought a fiat spider 2000 in the Netherlands, but was imported from california
since i am from Belgium , i need to import this one also .. the car seems to be traveling a lot
it is a little bit a bad buy , since i paid quit a lot for , but there is loads of work that needs to be done.
- engine running bad
- rust
- bad painting
- all the rubbers needs to be changed
- electric disaster
- subframe broken ( link between the 2 suspension arms and connection from engine )
- heating not working ( fan broken , heat exchanger broken , .. )
- brakes not working
and a lot of other stuff to do

Welcome aboard. That's quite a list of things to do. However you've come to the right place for help. I had never worked on cars before and managed to restore a 1974 thanks to the help of this forum.

Welcome, it looks like you've done a pretty good evaluation of your car and have quite a bit to do. The good news is that most of the mechanical work is well within the skills of the home mechanic.
My advice to you is to read up on what you want to do here and on the mirafiori.com forums, almost everything you are going to do has been done by someone else before and written up. Mirafiori also has all the manuals and microfilms you'll need. There's also a series on youtube from some one who has taken a spider to pieces and put it back together.

That's the one, be advised that some of the things he does to put things back together can be outside the mainstream and may not be the way you'll want to do things. Danny1988, the car does not look too bad.
What is wrong with the subframe? The crossmember is not usually the problem but sometimes there are cracks in the sheet metal body rails in which the sub frame bolts onto. Inspect carefully there and repair as needed for safety. I have seen cracks in the sheet metal frame rails at the top of the front coil spring as well.
