Well my neighbor down the street has the Pertronix system that fits my car ('76 Spider).
We are going to hook it up and see what happens.
My question is, what do we do with the 2 wires that are currently connected to the 2 points? (One wire on each point)
One of the wires is green, the other is black (maybe) its hard to tell.
Do we just cap them off?
Thanks
Charlie

So we tried starting the car with the 2 wires not connected and it does not start.

Re: Pertronix revisited
Would think those wires can be left disconnected and capped off as they're routed thru the start/run relay contacts to the coil which should now be bypassed by the Pertonics ignitor. There's a troubleshooting procedure on Pertronix's site for the MR-LS1 setup (not sure what one you have installed). https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0247/ ... MR-LS1.pdf . I have Pertronix installed in my Comet with just the stock coil and it works great. Good luck!

Re: Pertronix revisited
Thanks for the response. We did get it started last night. I had to turn the distributor counterclockwise, further than it was when I had the points installed. Not sure if that is normal or not, but it is running. It's idling higher than it was before, but not too bad.
I don't have a timing belt cover or the mark pointers, but I'll try to check the timing tonight.
Thanks again,
Charlie

AK, the link you sent is exactly the unit that we installed, so thanks for that.
