Hi all, im restaurating a 1972 BS1 spider.
Car ID tells me that there was original a 125BC040 engine in.
Do I understand correct that this was original a USA BS spider?
And that european come with a 125BC000 instead of the 125BC040?
Is there a difference in horsepowers or what?
Hope somebody knows

Hi Alfred, you are correct in that a 125BC040 engine is what was in the USA versions of the '72 spider, as well as in the '71 version like the one I have. This is a 1608 cc version, although I don't recall the horsepower, but I do seem to recall that HP measurements between the USA and Europe are slightly different.
I'm not sure about the 125BC000 engine, but I'm guessing it is just a slightly different version of the 1608 cc engine.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
