I am new here and I have joined because I have two Spiders in my garage: a CS1 of 1977 and a Pininfarina Spider Europa 85.5 in original condition and only 40.000 km since new. My CS1 was imported originally from California to Germany where it was mechanically restored and retrofitted to the European version at the time (camshafts, pistons, Ansa exhaust manifold, California exhaust emission controls removed).
The car received a bare metal respray and mechanical and electrical refurbishment and had a new soft top fitted two years ago and is pretty presentable now.
I believe in driving the cars, not just collecting dust in the garage. We regularly join our friends from the Lancia Club Queensland on their Winter Sun Rally which means a round trip of 4000 km for us. Both cars are a delight to drive on these long distance runs, they are comfortable and economical.
I'd enjoy hearing from other members and their driving experiences.
