1800 Intake Manifold and 34 ADF Carburetor Upgrade Instructions
1979 FIAT Spider Single Plane 1800 Manifold and 34 ADF Weber Carburetor Upgrade Instructions. I just finished the swap and compiled a pdf from step by step instructions as I completed the project. Something that it seems everyone has wanted / asks for, but has never actually been done, ha!. However, there are some very good threads on here, they just happen to be scattered about. Anyway, is there anyway to upload a PDF file to the forum? I can't seem to figure out a way to do that? CIAO!

What jets are you running? I've got stock 32ADFA except for the idle, that got bumped up to 60.
Also, I used a chinese knockoff 34ADF. It works flawlessly and you can't beat the price of $150.

Curious about your crankcase vent. I see an external filter, but it looks like it has another hose attached that wraps around the rear of the engine,...does it have negative pressure applied to it?

Crankcase vent is terminated at the little filter. Only has one hose coming of the vapor /oil separator unit. The hose you are seeing is probably for the water choke that comes from the other side of the engine.
As for the filter, I like the covienence of being able to work around the smaller style. Keeping the original, who knows next year I may change my mind and go back to that style, ha!

In the step No. 11 photo, I see an original 40 year old fuel pump and original fuel hoses. Did you replace those with new while the manifold was off and out of the way?

Fuel pump and starter will be a project for a different day. Needed to get it finished and moved to storage before the snow hit.

I hear ya. I've removed my stock air filter at least 35 times on this carvolzke wrote:Crankcase vent is terminated at the little filter. Only has one hose coming of the vapor /oil separator unit. The hose you are seeing is probably for the water choke that comes from the other side of the engine.

Still, it looks much neater. And nobody knows that underneath slumbers a 34ADF with all its raw power...

Is the How To still available? the google drive link appears to be broken? I have a stock '76 1800 and am looking for more power. Is the 34ADF the carb of choice? With or without HC pistons?
thx

The google drive link is still active, but you have to open it in a new browser window or copy and paste the URL into a new browser window and go from there. Not sure why that is, but this is true for me on all links from this site to the outside world.
Either the 32ADF or the 34ADF is a fine choice for an 1800. As for HC pistons, now you're getting into rebuilding the engine and so you might need to look at performance cams and exhaust systems as well. Don't go too crazy with high compression ratios as you'll run into pre-ignition issues that can only be solved with super high octane gas or other engine mods (in other words, $$$).
