Ride Height Question
Can anyone tell me how much lower the ride height will be if I install Koni yellow shocks vs installing the KYB gray shocks?

Re: Ride Height Question
Springs lower the car not the shocks.

Re: Ride Height Question
I've read on this forum the the gas charged shocks (KYBs) tend to raise the car somewhat due to the fact that they are positively charged with gas and hydraulic shocks do not have a positive pressure and don't change the ride height unless your replacing a gas shock. So my Question still is how much of a difference in ride height could I expect if I went from KYBs to Konis or any other hydraulic shock

Re: Ride Height Question
Going from KYB to Koni will lower the ride, The Kyb's that I took off my car were shot, The Koni's lowered app. one inch. Orford is correct the springs are suppose to hold the car up not the shocks, I found with the gas charged shocks that may not be the case.

Re: Ride Height Question
Thank you tima01864,
I just installed progressive springs on my 80 spider and the ride height came down about an inch. The KYBs on the car are old and tired and need to be replaced but I don't think that I want to come down another inch. I have also decided to replace the bushings and ball joints on my control arms and replace the steering box. Also my power brake booster failed this afternoon so I think Koni's are out for know.

Re: Ride Height Question
I cant be positive on the drop from the Konis Approximate 1 inch, Like most of the vendors recommend Koni's with the springs they sell I asked about 15" rims and was told many customers run this set up with them. I am happy I put the Koni's in place, Nice ride.
Have to have your priorities,

Re: Ride Height Question
Progressive springs from AR
Koni yellows, set soft.
15" rims with 205/55/15
great drive.
I am guessing that if your KYBs are shot, then there shouldn't be much if any change.
From what I understand these cars are built for the dampening that the Koni's give vs stiff gas shocks.
Again, couldn't be happier with the set up I have
