Hi from Mass

I inherited a 1982 124 (former Turbo) from my dad and after a 1,000+ mile road trip bringing it back to Mass last fall, I've been doing some basic maintenance on it in hopes of getting my mom to drive it. I'm an aspiring shade-tree mechanic so this site has already been immensely helpful and I figured I should join. Work so far has included a new horn button for the crummy steering wheel the PO put on, finding the plug for the headlights and installing the switch (oddly enough no hole cut in the dash for this), timing belt, new cooling system not including the radiator and spark plugs/wires. Working out some rear brake dragging issues that forced me to replace pads/rotors prematurely (hoping new hoses will help with that, enjoyed learning about the rear compensator too). Fuel filter is also on the list. Hoping to get her back on the road within the next week or two to enjoy the last couple months of summer.

I just saw the email this week for the Larz Anderson event this Sunday. I was hoping to attend but family commitments have gotten in the way.

Me too, although wife has been very ill this Summer, 6 hospitalizations since the surgery in early May.
