Hello from Montana

Post by majicwrench »

Hi all,
I'm Keith Meyers, from Libby MT, in the very NW cornere of the state. I've got two old Fiats, a 72 124 Spider and a another, at this point more of a parts car, a 73 124 Spider. Just starting to get the '72 into functiong conditions, have been watching it collect dust in the garage for years. Am going to need a few odd pieces and always looking for good advice. Spent my whole life as an auto mechanic, even worked briefly in a Fiat Dealership, and currently own a shop called The Magicwrench.
Looking forward,
Keith

Hi, and welcome Keith. Does your Spider get lonely out there in Big Sky Country, or do you know of others?
Being a mechanic, you probably already know how nice it is to work on these cars compared to a lot of others.
Good to hear form you.

welcome! I'd expect you have a nice long winter coming soon, that should give you plenty of time to get the Fiat up and running

Welcome, good to have another wrencher. Maybe we can help you get motivated. I waited untill my kids grew up to get the flu!

Thanks for all the "hellos". Will likely be a hard winter, tho often hard to find time for projects in the winter, tween shoveling snow and stoking the stoves.
My kids have been gone for years, still not enough time to do things...you all know how it goes. I love to fish, and do a lot of theatre work and community events, so this will go slowly, but surely. Methinks a Spider would make a cool parade car.....

It's nice to know another 72 will soon be resurrected. Welcome to the club, Keith.

I just joined the board here and had to say Hi! I grew up in Montana and drove two Spyders there - year round!
In fact, I even drove one of them way up into the mountains outside Billings (the Beartooths). It was fun to see the looks on the faces of the 4-wheelers!

Welcome to the site. Slow and steady is not a bad approach -- you can have fun driving her as you work on her.
