I'm super excited to take on my new project of restoring the '72 I just acquired.
She came to me without a top, entirely, so piecing together the frame and the top has been a challenge... I don't know where the side tension wires attach yet!!! If anyone has pictures I'd really appreciate it!
Anyhow, hi!

Welcome to the forum Noland and congratulations on your new old spider! New top looks good, tension cables tighten under a small rectangular plate with two machine bolts. It located above the rear wheel arch bulges inside the car, on both sides.

Congrats,
Yep, looks like Oregon, wet and green...I am in Sandy. Couldn't help but try to figure out your area, looks a bit like east county, but just a guess.

Haha, yeah, gateway-ish area. Do you know if there are any local Fiat meetups or clubs?

Yeah I recognized the Quonset hut type building
I think there might be some guys that get together once in a while for drives in the gorge etc, but am not sure
There are some members here in Portland area and some others in Oregon
I think georgeamos, tartan18, gregarious, tagrag are close to PDX area or closeby in WA

Good job on the convertible top! Now if you're like most of us it will stay down all the time!

Oh yeah, gonna keep the top off any day it doesn't rain on me. I'm totally excited to have this drivable for summer. If anybody wants a helping hand I'm available, I figure I'd learn more being someone wrench gofer seeing how someone experienced does stuff I'm too timid to try out of the gate... So, if you have a project, let me know.
