Windsheild wipers

Post by blanchardkeith »

I just got my car back from body and paint. The wipers now don't work. Which fuse is it under the steering wheel? I hookded up my battery charger cause it was all dead. When I got up this morning my wiper motor was humming but the wipers were not working. I think this is the cause of my dead battery. My lever inside doesn't do anything however. Up down, nothing?
Thanks for the help

Which fuse; what year is your car?
Did the shop have the cowl off?
The motor was humming; does that mean the wiper lever was in an "on" position?
Sometimes, if you're lucky, you can start the wipers moving by a little manual nudge if they are just bound up a bit. It could be linkage or motor. The position makes them vulnerable to corrosion.

Okay, 75 spider. Yes the cowling was off. Motor was humming but when I moved the lever inside up and down it did nothing. The motor kept humming. When I turned the switch on the dash it did hum faster and slower. Weird. I have moved the arms but no luck in motion.

there is a short bracket that connects the motor to the wiper arm assembly. sounds like that bracket has fallen off
