First off, welcome to the forum.
Where to start? We need to know what year it is, if it's an '80 is it carbed or fuel injected.
Do you know how long it sat?
Does the engine turn over?
These are good starting points for us to help you get it on the road.

welcome, the left door jamb should have a VIN tag with the date of mfg on it. There should also be an underhood tag with engine and emissions info.
If the car has been sitting for years, start with changing all of the fluids, draining the fuel tank, removing the spark plugs and add some auto trans fluid to each cyl before attempting to turn the engine over

Do you pull your Spider with a horse and do you have a triangular reflector on the back. Glad to have you aboard.

Pope, there have been occasions when I wished for a horse to pull my Spider!
Fortunately those are mostly in the past.

Welcome to Rockyrustbucket :D I'll look forward to seeing your car.

Hey, welcome to the site. Note that the date on the door jamb is the date of actual manufacture, not necessarily the model year date. For example, mine is a 1980 model year... manufactured in October 1979.

we would love to help, of course. but we need more symptoms, and carb vs fuel injected is a great starting point.

does the battery have a full charge, and does the starter engage??
