how to check power at distributor

OK – once more, with a correction. Thanks spider2081 for pointing this out. I have too many wires in the area for other things and old eyes – there is no ground attached to the coil negative post.
Coil positive post should have the blue/black 12 volt power wire and a black wire that goes to a condenser mounted beside the coil.
Coil negative post should have the brown wire plus one green wire that goes to the distributor and thence the points.
Distributor should contain only one set of points, connected by a green wire to the negative post on the coil; plus a condenser also connected to the points. Remove the original two green wires which are no longer required.
