If I ever get down-under again, I really want to do the drive from Melbourne to Adelaide on the Great Ocean Road. I made it to the 12 Apostles last time (in a rental Holden), and it was an amazing drive. I sure would love to do it in a Spider! (Hint, hint). I'm not sure if you can drive all the way to Perth....

I did not make it up there this year, but a very good friend of mine won best Lancia Coupe with his recently restored Montecarlo.
Your Spider looks superb; are you entering Motorclassica?
I had my Montecarlo in it two years ago and it really is an amazing event.

BTW NelsonJ, the Great Ocean Road won't get you to Perth.
That is a looong drive!
Driving distance is over 3,400kms!

Now, I do not live in Australia so I should defer to you, Broadsword, but when I looked up the Great Ocean Road the map I found showed that it did go all the way to Perth:

Sorry, I would post the map itself but I still have not gotten down how to post pictures here (I know, I know . . . there have been many posts on how to do it: I just have to sit down and figure it out some time).

Hi John,

I think that map might be a bit msleading.
I tried driving up the East Coast thinking the road hugged the water's edge, but it was far from it.
Perhaps there are parts that do, but the Great Ocean Road is the most famous stretch by far.

Broadsword - the car is registered for Motorclassica. I should find out in July if accepted.

Csaba - The car was dented on the front right fender. Not too bad and should push out. I knew the risk when entering the car. You can only hope someone does not dent or scratch the car. Most people are very careful walking amongst the cars.
