As this is my first Spyder I have 2 quick questions.
Headlight switch, mine is only on or off, there is no running lights setting I dunno if this is a bad switch or normal.
Heater fan switch, also, just on and off one speed, seems like there should be two speeds to me. I am still trying to figure out the heater controls. When I was replacing hoses and flushing the heater core I figured out that I had the heater on all summer when I thought it was off....

Two switch questions

Re: Two switch questions
blower motor has 2 speeds; the switch is off in the center, high one way, low the other. Common to find them connected improperly
Lights should have a pk light position in the middle

Re: Two switch questions
I drove 50 miles in 30 degree weather with no heat ,before accidentaly finding out that my heat controls were somehow reversed! Then the valve started leaking into the car ,so now I have no heat...again

Re: Two switch questions
My heat lever seems to be reversed somehow also. If I want heat I have to move it toward the blue. No heat, toward the red. What is this? Itallian reverse logic?

Re: Two switch questions
Ron ,our cars must have come off the line together! We were driving along..freezing,and my son asked''what happens when you pull this'' He moved it to the blue and instant heat! Maybe its an 82 thing.

Re: Two switch questions
HA! Mine is exactly the same! I thought I was just Kukoo! When I went to flush out the heater core it wouldn't flush so I messed with the lever and voila! Move it toward the blue arrow instant heat! LOL!

Re: Two switch questions
I'm thinking some aftermarket valves operate in reverse of the original. Mine is the ball valve from Val in Seattle. I heard it is made for the Lada.

so.... OKlahoma,
did you figger out your light switch? the one on the dash, left of the fuel gauge. it should be three position.. up is off, center is running lights (with or without the ignition on), and down is all exterior lights when the ignition switch is on - only.
then there is the high/low beam paddle switch, located behind the turn signal switch on the steering column.
then, regardless of what color the triangles are... here is the correct paddle positions for heater controls:
left paddle controls the flapper under the cowl. forward (pointing to radio) closed flapper, no air. rearward (pointing straight up) open flapper, lots of airflow.
center paddle controls the heater valve, if the heater valve is functioning. forward (pointing to radio) full heat open valve. rearward (pointing straight up) closed heater valve, no heat.
right paddle controls the air flow direction..floor or defrost. forward is floor, and rearward is defroster.
the arrows and the colors get confusing. just memorize the positions.

Re: Two switch questions
Hey Mike how was your weekend? Mine was fantastic!
My light switch works, but the running lights position isn't functioning. No biggie I'll change it sometime. My lights and brights work just fine. I was impressed when I first got it that the lights are switched by ignition, so you can't leave them on accidently.
On the levers my center paddle is just backwards I guess. Ihad the heat on all summer I guess cause I pull it back, straight up, I get heat so it's just backwards for some reason, but it functions! My Fan switch only functions on high so again that's ok no biggie I'll change it sometime!

Mine works like Mike's. No heat = down, up, down.

Re: Two switch questions
hadda wundurful weekend. four hours in the saddle on saturday and another four on sunday. in between saw a couple of million dollars worth of Italian Iron at the Italian Gathering III in Dublin OHIO
could be that the cable is mounted backwards at the valve... but, no matter. as long as it works.
my valve works well enough to shut off hot water flow that i actually open my flapper (left paddle) for fresh air supply to my feet.
