'82 spider: Does anyone know what the white w/ #22 on it that comes thru firewall on passenger side is used for ?

My guess is that it is not used. Most of the white wires with numbers on them in the Spiders are fuel injection and the numbers correspond to the pins on the Electronic Control unit (computer). Pin 22 on the ECU is not used. Fiat may have installed the wire anticipating future use.
All of this is just a guess.

Yes, on most FI cars on the passenger side there is an unused wire coming from the FI harness.
