The fuel injection system will initially fire all four injectors and (if cold) the CSI regardless of the ignition system. Once the system gets out of "start" mode it starts reading the sensors. If your ignition system isn't working then the FI system will not function.

I don't know what coil you used but too hot of a coil will bake the pickup and control module.
Hey Brad

When did Bosch introduce the coloured wires in the harness, all mine seem to be white?

Pink is on the positive side, brown and yellow are on the negative side, and that white cable I remember it's always disconnected

Can we safely assume the yellow is going to the ECU (pin 1 of the ECU connector)??

Disconnect the Brown tacho only lead and see it does the same thing??

Could you also confirm the module is wires to the correct post
on the diagram below take note that the B goes to the B or positive of the coils and the C goes to the negative. (to diagram below is from another vehicle)

You have to also make sure the coils aluminium housing is well earthed, it's part of the cicuit. I would also run a lead from the mounting post of the housing to the cambox somewhere.

they only reason I ask is that on your 1980 pdf (Which I use all the time, many thanks) i have noticed on page 8 there are a lot of coloured wires going back to the ECU?

On a side note did you ever get around to doing anything with that Power window relay upgrade i sent you?

This is what happens, I flip the magnetic plate, put a new control module, and the cars starts, but very bad, like it was in 3 cyliders, low power, and dies in about 7-12 seconds, it depends
There's spark and fuel, need to check injector connectors again

I guess it never dawned on me to realize that FIAT/Bosch did put colors on the wiring diagram, but I've never seen them in anything but white!

good to see it's all sorted, when I had a double relay issue, the whole car just stopped.

Have you figured out which pin that is and what is controls?

I believe this is the dual relay that the Fuel Injected cars have. The relay cover has been removed in the first photo and the relay board has been removed from the covers base in the lower photo. The upper part of the photo shows the copper printed circuit material missing in the area just below and to the right of the large pin on the left side of the board. The repair is not shown. The 2 copper areas of the of the printed circuit board need to be bridged with a wire and soldered in place to make the repair

Hope this helps

Check the Coolant Temperature Sensor. Also check the Dual Relay.
