I am starting my first restore on a 1982 Spider.
This car has been sitting for about 26 years and the parking lights come on but go off when the headlight switch is turned on also the headlights don't come on at all.

Just a thought. It confused me at first. THe ignition switch has to be on for headlights to work. It does not have to be on for parking lights to work.
The dash headlight switch is 3 position. With the bat in the up position all the lights are off.
With the bat in the middle position the parking lights are on
With the bat in the down position the headlights and the parking lights are on.
