Like the question say, any pics of how to remove and install the Spider 2000 rear emblem. I know that it also holds the lock, how do you remove both?

first, do you have any door keys? or the glove box key? it is easy to remove the glovebox lock, take it to a locksmith and have a key made. glovebox should be the same as the trunk. unless some time in 20+ years its been changed. otherwise, drill out the lock and destroy the innards. (sounds gross, my father used to cut chickens heads off in the winter on the farm, and watch them run around with out a head. (sick f%$ker) then my mother would remove the innards and cook the chickens)

Remove the rod that connects the trunk latch to the lock. The lock body is threaded, remove the notched ring holding the lock in position (needle nose pliers work well for this). Once the notched retaining ring is removed, slide the lock forward and pull the lock emblem off the locating stud grommet, now the lock and emblem can be removed.

I realise this post is 5yrs old, but just wanted to say thankyou for your advice. As a first timer to car restoration I started stripping down my 1979 today and found this perfect for a noob like me!! Doing a bare metal restoration so a lot of work ahead!!
