Are the dimmer switches repairable???
Most of the ones I have opened are. There is an internal fuse in the dimmer that blows if one of the light wires is shorted to ground. The fuse is simply a small wire. Usually if you look close to the connections inside the rheostat you can see the ends of the wire. I have used one strand of a # 16 wire to replace the fuse. Usually 19 strands of smaller wire make a #16 conductor.

I just jumpered around mine, as it was DOA. The lights aren't that bright to begin with.

Just repaired the dimmer rheostat . All I did was solder a strand of 16 gauge wire across the two copper lugs in the back. Works great now. Thanks again for the information.

I really enjoy working on the spider. I restored it about seven years ago. Took the whole car apart and went through every nut and bolt. If I knew how to post pictures I would. It always needs something......
