Instrument Lights
1981, 2000. Any issues wth replacing the 194ll (3.8W) bulb with a 168 (4.9W) bulb for the instrument cluster lights? Too big, too hot , too bright? RB

Re: Instrument Lights
I think others have done this with out any issues, There is an internal fuse dimmer control but it should be large enough to work with the 168 bulbs. Also the dimmer control does not allow the dash lights to run full bright. Some people simply remove it and run the lights full bright by connecting the wires together.

Re: Instrument Lights
Just checked at O'Reilly's, and the 194s are actually 4.6W. Still thinking about replacing my dash lights with 4.9W 168s, though.

Re: Instrument Lights
Another option is to replace them with the Sylvania LED bulbs. I just replaced my dash light bulbs with the LEDs and they are great. Much more light and no more fogging, if they are too bright just turn down the dimmer.
