Violet wires?

Post by DaveMarcotte »

RE my '77 Right in the area near the fuse there are two violet wires going to one with a connector not connected to anything. Any ideas?

I am simply guessing but attached to the left side if the pedal assembly is a socket for a service tight to plug into. I think there might be violet wires that go to that socket. These sockets are troublesome. the plastic brakes and they short out causing fuse to blow.

Here is a couple photos of the light socket and pedal assembly out of a car.

I don't think those are original Fiat wires. For sure the connectors are something that have been installed at a later date.
I opened the link that sure is a pretty 68 you have

Agree with Dave, Dave.
Wires/connectors look after market.
Maybe an alarm at some point?

Any inspection lamps under the dash just behind the fuse box, wires maybe hiding it, I have a earlier car but maybe the lamps are the same

That "socket" is a gutted out switch for emissions control system that originally sensed when the clutch was engaged.
