Alternator Electrical Stud Stripped

Post by CharlieB »

Hi Guys and Gals,
As I was reinstalling the alternator on my 76, I couldn't get the nut to tighten on the threaded stud that the wires are attached to.
The threads on the stud are stripped so I need to replace the stud.
Does anyone know how to get the stud out of the alternator. I have the stock Marelli a12m124 with an external regulator.
I know I have seen an assembly/disassembly write up somewhere but now that I need it...well.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would bring it to a local auto alternator and starter rebuild shop and have it repaired and tested before reinstalling.

Yeah that's probably the smart thing to do.
Thanks
