Some may notice reduced braking effectiveness if they did not use DOT3 brake fluid. Some of the new stuff absorbs air quite easily reducing brake efficiency. Brake efficiency can also be reduced if all the glides, shims, caliper to brake pad and caliper mount points were not cleaned and lubed sufficiently with a good high temperature brake grease.

I can on mine in a panic stop. They are more like moderately assisted manual brakes which I am used to however someone who has always driven fully boosted power brakes with little to no feedback just may not be used to pressing the pedal hard enough to do so.
Mine are a little weak though as the Diesel has no intake vacuum so it has a very small vacuum pump bolted to the back of the alternator that might not be large enough for the Fiat brake booster. It develops about 21" of vacuum but it takes some time at lower rpms.
